Who are we?
We
are a Bible-believing independent church that has been active in the Porthmadog and Penrhyndeudraeth area since 1975.We are
made up of young and old, English and Welsh speakers and we exist to glorify Jesus by living lives that honour Him and telling
others about Him.
What do we believe?
In the core truths of Biblical and historic Christianity. The one God who created everything has so loved guilty
and rebellious humanity that he sent his Son, the Lord Jesus Christ to die in our place to pay the penalty for our sins. Jesus
has risen from the dead, will return in glory, and is the universe’s rightful King and ruler to whom everyone must bow.
Each of us needs to respond to Jesus in repentance and faith. When we do this God gives us new life by his Holy Spirit and
we become part of God’s family, the church.
What do we do?
We meet together on Sundays to worship God by singing, praying, hearing the Bible read and explained, and encouraging
each other in our faith. We run a Sunday School and activities for young people during the week. We pray regularly for the
people of this area. We run an open coffee morning in Porthmadog on a Friday, together with open air speaking. We run annual
events like our Holiday Bible Club and Harvest supper. We also run events for people to find out what real Christianity is
all about, like one-off informal meetings and in-depth courses.
We
have been taking Sunday services in Hafod y Gest, Porthmadog and Maes y Mor, Tremadog for many years. We organise a Christmas
box appeal in the Penrhyn Community. Large items are also collected to be sent to Eastern Europe.
Who are we for?
Absolutely anyone
is welcome to come and find out more about Jesus Christ!
